Scammers hijacked the accounts of well-known poker players Jacobson and Marques

The accounts of 2014 WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson and Spanish poker player Ana Marquez appear to have been hacked by scammers.
On August 24, a strange post promoting crypto trading appeared on Marquez's page. The post was accompanied by a photo of the Spaniard in front of a "G-Wagon" that may have been AI-generated.
"I've been grinding a bit in crypto, and it's finally starting to work out for me. Treated myself to a brand-new AMG, and the feeling is unreal. Huge thanks to my coach Olivia for her mentorship. Seriously, I couldn't have done it without her."
The post leads to an account belonging to a certain "Olivia Sterling," which is dedicated to crypto trading and has 23,000 followers. However, the "crypto coach's" posts are hidden, so it's unclear whether this profile belongs to the scammers or was also hacked.
On August 25, Martin Jacobson published a similar post that also links to "Olivia Sterling." The Swedish poker pro attached to the message screenshots of crypto earnings totaling £73,360:
"This isn't something I usually share, but this experience turned out to be too meaningful not to mention. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity, the lessons, and the journey. A huge thank you to Olivia for her constant support, patience, and valuable advice throughout all this time."
Public comments are disabled on both posts, and only certain users are able to interact with them.
PokerFraudAlert journalist Todd Witteles also drew attention to the wide spread of a phishing scheme using poker players' accounts. For example, messages sent in Ana Marquez's name arrive in private chats asking people to vote for a poker podcast, even though the player may not even have one. Voting requires authorization, through which the scammers can obtain the user's personal data and continue sending malicious links to their contacts.
